The  Company  was incorporated  in the year 1994   for  setting up  an Office  complex  to  house  the  varied  Companies  of  Setmil Group under  one  roof.

A  BOI approved venture, the seven storey building is located  on  a 87perch prime location abutting the Jaya Container Terminal/(SAGT) with a spectacular view of the Colombo Port

This 50,000 Sq. Ft. building also known as  the  “Setmil  Maritime  Centre”  has the capacity for renting office space to external Organisations.

The State of the Art intelligent Building provides its clientele with an uninterrupted power supply supported by a 500KVA Generator and a CCTV Digital Monitoring system.  At any given time there are 250 Sri Lanka Telecom loops available with lease line Point- to- Point connections and internet  circuit with fiber optic connections.

Facilities for ADSL Lines, PABX facilities for individual extensions and an EI Connection and DID facilities are also available. Private Links with Dialog  -GSM and  /or   Lanka Com are also available at any time. Central air conditioning of the entire building is available throughout the day.

In the year 2002, Setmil  Development  (Pvt) Ltd was awarded the ISO 9001-2000Quality Management Certificate by Lloyds Registrar Quality Assurance.
